Bobby ChristensenBobby J. Christensen, OD, F.A.A.O

Dr. Christensen joined Dr. Baldwin in 1974. He graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry. He has held numerous offices in professional organizations including President of the Oklahoma Optometric Association, President of the Heart of America Contact Lens Society, Program Chairman for the Heart of America Contact Lens Society, and Program Chairman for the American Optometric Contact Lens Section. Dr. Christensen has become well known as an author and lecturer in the areas of pathology, primary care optometry, contact lens care, and practice management. He has served as Equipment Review Editor for Optometric Economics. He co-authored the book RX for Success. He was named “Optometrist of the Year” in 1995, by the Heart of America Contact Lens Society (representing a 7 state region). He was named “Optometrist of the Year” in 1997, by the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians. In 2000, Optometric Management named him one of the “Top 10 ODs of the Decade”. He is a Fellow in the American Academy of Optometrists and has earned Diplomate status in the Cornea and Contact Lens Section.

Dr. Christensen was chosen as a Pioneer in Optometry Networking in September 2015, by Primary Care Optometry News. Locally, he is an active member of Wickline United Methodist Church serving as Co-Chairman of the Finance Committee. Dr. Christensen is Senior Vice President, Clinical Strategies of Vision Source, L.P. He leads the managed care initiatives for the 3,300 practices in the Vision Source network.  Bobby and Jane Christensen were honored as Philanthropists of the Year for 2014 by Optometry Giving Sight.


John SmayJohn C. Smay, O.D.

Dr. Smay graduated with highest honors in 1996 from the Northeastern State College of Optometry in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. After graduation he completed a one year residency in ocular pathology at the Western Oklahoma Eye Center in Elk City, Oklahoma. Dr. Smay joined the Midwest City Vision Source office in 1997. He practices primary care optometry, which includes fitting contact lenses, prescribing glasses, treatment of ocular diseases including glaucoma, and co-management of Laser Vision Correction. He works closely with several cataract, refractive, and retinal surgeons in the area to ensure good surgical outcomes. He has served as president of the Oklahoma City District Optometric Association.

Dr. Smay and his wife Keri live with his son Christian, and daughters Chloe and Ella in the Choctaw area. He has been active in several community organizations including the Midwest City Kiwanis Club and the Choctaw Nicoma Park Public School Foundation. Dr. Smay has completed the Midwest City Chamber of Commerce Leadership course. He and Keri attend Life Church with their children.


corey christensenCorey Christensen, O.D., MBA

Dr. Corey Christensen was raised in Midwest City and graduated from Midwest City High School. He graduated in 2004 with highest honors from Northeastern State College of Optometry in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and then returned home to join the Midwest City Vision Source office. Dr. Christensen completed his MBA at the University of Oklahoma and joined the Vision Source Administrative Team that same year. He practices full scope primary care optometry, which includes: fitting toric, bifocal, keratoconus, post surgical and corneal refractive therapy contact lenses. In addition, his office provides a wide selection of glasses in the most innovative materials available. Dr. Christensen is certified in the treatment of glaucoma and other ocular diseases. He is also certified to perform anterior ophthalmic laser procedures such as YAG laser to treat capsule clouding following cataract surgery. He co-manages with ocular surgeons, such as cataract, refractive and retinal specialists, in order to provide his patients with quality comprehensive eyecare. Dr. Christensen enjoys keeping up with the latest changes in technology.

Dr. Christensen and his wife, Carolyn, live in Midwest City with their four sons, Brian, Jonathan, Ian and Isiah and their daughter, Kathryn.  They are active members of the Choctaw Church of Christ. Carolyn, also from Midwest City, previously taught at Choctaw Elementary and Rose State College  and currently teaches Christian Heritage Academy. Dr. Christensen has strong family roots and has special interests in automobile racing, motorcycles, boating at Lake Tenkiller, and spending time with his family. He has completed the Midwest City Chamber of Commerce Leadership course and enjoys serving the people in our community.


Jonathan PoeJonathan Poe O.D., MBA

Dr. Jonathan Poe is a native of Midwest City and graduated from Midwest City High School. He graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University in 2001 where he majored in Business. He then attended and graduated from Oklahoma City University where he received his MBA. After working several years in the finance industry he decided to change careers and attend optometry school. Dr. Poe attended Southern College of Optometry (SCO) in Memphis, TN and graduated in May 2012 and returned home to join the Midwest City Vision Source office.

Dr. Poe completed several clinical externships during his third and fourth years at SCO. He completed a clinical externship at the Memphis VA Medical Center, where he gained valuable experience in the treatment and management of ocular disease. He also completed clinical externships in primary care optometry at ‘Family Eye Care’ in Memphis and ‘The Eye Center’ at SCO. While at SCO he was a member of Fellowship of Christian Optometrists and traveled to Belarus, Nicaragua and Guatemala on optometric mission trips. Dr. Poe is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians.

Dr. Poe and his wife, Leslie, live in Midwest City with their three sons, Riggins, Rhett and Wiley. Leslie also attended Oklahoma Baptist University and then went on to earn her Masters degree at Baylor University in Higher Education Administration. While in Memphis, Leslie worked at the University of Memphis and is currently a full-time Mom. Dr. Poe enjoys spending time with his family, running with his German-shorthaired pointer, watching college football, Thunder basketball and Kansas City Royals baseball.


Sawyer Lee, O.D.

Dr. Sawyer Lee was raised in Holdenville, OK. He graduated from East Central University in Ada, OK in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in biology. He attended Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry in Tahlequah, OK and graduated in May of 2020. Along with earning his doctorate, he received an award for clinical excellence given to the top clinicians in the class. During his time there, he was active in Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity and traveled to Roatan, Honduras in 2019 on a medical mission trip. He was also an active member in the Fellowship of Christian Optometrists and the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society. Prior to graduation, Dr. Lee completed a clinical externship at Better Vision Ahead in Edmond, OK gaining valuable experience in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases. Before his time in school, he worked in an optometry/ophthalmology clinic for 9 years as a certified ophthalmic technician. Dr. Lee is certified in performing anterior segment laser procedures including YAG laser which is used to treat a cloudy capsule that forms after cataract surgery.

Dr. Lee and his wife Kellie live in Choctaw along with their sons Rowan and Xander. Kellie, who grew up in Broken Bow, OK, also attended East Central University receiving her bachelor’s degree in 2016. Dr. Lee loves taking walks with his family and his hobbies include playing the guitar, golf, basketball, and fishing. He is thrilled to be a part of the Midwest City community.
